Although I really liked the look of the Minimatica theme that I was using, I decided to move away from it because there are a few things I want to use this site for other than photo albums. So I needed something that was more flexible, and the new look gives me exactly that. This new theme is probably the most customizable one I’ve found, and it looks pretty good too. The only problem is it has so many different things you can customize, it may take me some time to get things tweaked the way I want it. So this will be a work in progress.
Probably the first thing you notice is that the photo albums are no longer front and center. The front page is more like a traditional blog. This is by design as I have a bunch of things that I’m interested in documenting and that kind of stuff needs to go on front, since it will all be public. The photo albums are located in the navigation bar up top, and the same rules apply as before… you must be logged in before you can view them. I have a lot more photos to add, so that part of the site will continue to expand and evolve as the library gets larger.
I’m working on adding some pages about a few of my hobbies, and some “how-to” type stuff that I find interesting and think you might find useful. Plus I plan to devote a portion of the site as a static professional services page in hopes of attracting some side work.
Anyway, that’s the plan.
